Silvan Joray - Sky Garden (2026)

.In June 2024, NYC-based musicians Silvan Joray, Jakob Ebers, and Jeff Krol undertook a five-day residency at the Avaloch Farm Institute as a co-led trio. The first few days were spent memorizing nine original compositions written by all group members, followed by a four-hour recording session. Under this high-pressure environment, the band recorded a full-length album where their distinct, compositional voices complement and flow together. Krol’s “Fractometry” is a fiery piece that musically reflects patterns found in fractals, Ebers’ ballad “Reverie” takes musical form inspiration from Billy Strayhorn’s “Day Dream“, while Joray’s “Old Yeller Doesn’t Sound Too Bad” echoes of swing-style jazz standards. The trio’s album debut, “Sky Garden”, captures the spirit of three individual composers uniting through shared trust, spontaneous interplay, and a deep commitment to collective expression.
