Red Bird is the second studio album from Luke Grimes — an actor best known for his role as Kayce Dutton on the hit series Yellowstone — released on April 3, 2026, via Mercury Nashville / Range Media (UMG). The album was once again produced by Dave Cobb, the acclaimed Nashville producer behind records by Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, and Jason Isbell. Sessions took place at two storied locations: Georgia May Studio in Savannah and the legendary RCA Studio A in Nashville.
Nearly the entire album was co-written by Grimes, Cobb, and Jessie Jo Dillon, with "A Little More Time" penned alongside Natalie Hemby. Throughout the sessions, Grimes contributed not only his vocals but also acoustic guitar, percussion, and drums. The ten tracks explore love, faith, regret, and resilience with stripped-down clarity that prizes storytelling over spectacle. Songs like "Drink Drink Drink" and "Haunted" grapple with self-doubt and reckoning, while "Without You," "A Little More Time," and lead single "Love You Now" reflect on commitment, loss, and the quiet strength of staying present.
"Making Redbird was a cathartic experience in many ways," Grimes has said. "Sometimes the highs and lows of life are too much to express with words, so song becomes necessary. As deeply personal as it is, the themes are simple and universal: love, loss, and learning along the way." The album arrives as Grimes simultaneously stars in the CBS Yellowstone spinoff Marshals, and follows a debut catalog that has already surpassed 200 million global streams.
