"Réminiscences" (2017–2019) is a monumental four-CD cycle by Jean-Claude Eloy, serving as an electroacoustic reimagining of his earlier work "Yo-In." Moving away from the theatrical and live performance constraints of the original version, the composer focuses on the "power of listening" and pure auditory perception. This five-hour sonic fresco integrates recordings of natural elements, industrial noises, and an extensive palette of percussion samples captured in Tokyo and Utrecht. Structured as a metaphorical human day—transitioning from dawn meditation to nocturnal revolt—the work effectively bridges the gap between Western avant-garde structures and Eastern sonic traditions.
