Maria Kalaniemi on accordion and Pekko Käppi on the Greek lyre Jouhikko have together created an extraordinary artistic work based on a Finnish poem from the "Kalevala".

The result is runic singing in Swedish that tells a story and captures the inexplicable, emotionally moving power of music. The album takes you on a magical journey where powerful harmonies, delicate melodies and sonorous church bells intertwine. Although the album presents only one poem from the Finnish national epic, Kalaniemi sees it as part of a continuum.
