"Closed For The Festival," the fourth full-length album by MIDI Janitor (Jonathan Orr) released on We Are Busy Bodies, explores the concept of the "shadow self" through the lens of the author's childhood memories in an Irish Christian commune. The musical component of the album blends elements of experimental electronics and IDM, drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of Boards Of Canada and µ-Ziq. At the heart of the concept lies the phenomenon of "thin places"—states where the boundary between the past and the present blurs, creating an atmosphere of unsettling naivety and a surreal sonic landscape.
