"Sandbox" is the debut studio album by American power pop artist Erik Voeks, released on October 14, 1993, on the independent label Rockville Records. The album is considered a "lost masterpiece" and a hidden classic of '90s guitar pop by critics and die-hard fans alike.
The album's musical style combines clever, catchy melodies, inventive chord progressions, and wry lyrics in the vein of Matthew Sweet, Robyn Hitchcock, Andy Partridge (XTC), and Big Star.
The recording featured prominent indie musicians, including guitarist Jay Bennett (future Wilco member) and multi-instrumentalist Adam Schmitt. In October 2024, to mark the 30th anniversary of its release, the album was officially reissued on vinyl for the first time by Hanky Panky Records.
