Encontro is a lush, boundary-breaking project that blends jazz, Brazilian rhythms, and rock into a sound that is as organic as it is cinematic.

Produced by Grammy Award-winner Nic Hard (Snarky Puppy) the album invites listeners into a world of dreamy landscapes, rich harmonies, and stories rooted in compassion, feminism, and mental health.

Inspired by the natural wonder Encontro das Águas (“Meeting of the Waters”) in Northern Brazil – where two distinct rivers run side by side before merging – the album’s title reflects the duo’s own union of cultures, traditions, and artistic voices. “Encontro is both a tribute to the beauty of joining forces and an introduction to who we are as artists,” say Caio e Jess. “It’s about sharing our lives, music, and ambitions while staying true to our individuality.”

Across its eight tracks, Encontro showcases the duo’s whimsical yet virtuosic approach, featuring collaborations with Laura Perrudin (harp), Michael Mayo (vocals), and Marissol Mwaba (vocals), among others. The album traverses expansive soundscapes – from the ethereal opener “The Wave” to the hauntingly intimate title track Encontro. Traditional South American rhythms such as Maracatú, Ijexá, Baião, and Chacarera pulse through the record, grounding its cinematic sweep in deep folkloric roots.
