The Herbie Mann Afro-Jazz Sextet - The Common Ground (1960)

"The Common Ground" is a landmark studio album by American jazz flutist Herbie Mann, recorded in 1960 and released on Atlantic Records (catalog number SD 1343). The full title of the project on the original vinyl cover is "The Herbie Mann Afro-Jazz Sextet + Four Trumpets."
This release was an important step in popularizing the Afro-jazz genre, fusing Cuban, African, and American jazz rhythms with commercially appealing, easy-to-listen melodies.
