Released in 1983 on Philips Records, Summer Has Flown is a studio album by French orchestra leader Paul Mauriat that showcases his signature easy-listening arrangements of early 1980s pop hits. The 12-track collection features Mauriat's lush orchestral style applied to contemporary chart-toppers, including Irene Cara's "Flashdance... What A Feeling" from the blockbuster film Flashdance, Elton John's "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues," Donna Summer's "She Works Hard For The Money," and the Bee Gees-penned "Woman In You". The album also includes original compositions by Mauriat, notably the title track "Summer Has Flown" and "Sunset Opening". Recorded at Studio des Dames in Paris and engineered by Jean-Louis Labro, the album was produced by Mauriat alongside Valentin Coupeau.
