Laure Briard - Voyage Mental (2026) [Hi-Res]

The new album by French artist Laure Briard marks a shift from the themes of distant travel (previously inspired by Brazil and the Californian desert) to an exploration of her inner world and the experience of early motherhood. The artist's musical style fuses the traditions of 1960s French pop (yé-yé), bossa nova, and sophisticated folk. Recorded at Studio Nocturne with contributions from Gaëtan Nonchalant and a close-knit group of musicians, the record features key tracks such as the melancholic "Rocking Chair," the ballad "Train," and "Golden Sun," a cross-generational duo with cult 1960s American musician F.J. McMahon. The central themes of the release focus on a longing for peace, the suffocating nature of overcrowded cities, and a sense of protective nostalgia, all transformed into a light, cinematic pop sound.
