Houseband – Sympatico (1977)

Sympatico is the second studio album by the Dutch band Houseband, released in 1977 on the major European label Polydor (catalog number 2925 058).

This album is a vivid and very characteristic example of the European funk and soul scene of the second half of the 1970s, when European musicians tried to adapt the American "black" groove to somewhat softer pop standards.

Houseband began their journey as a band focused on progressive pop and jazz rock, but on the album Sympatico they finally shifted their emphasis towards funk, disco-funk, soul and light jazz-funk. The music of the album is filled with a sunny, danceable and relaxed atmosphere.
