Gergana Velinova - Free (2026)

Bulgarian-Canadian jazz vocalist and poet Gergana Velinova is releasing her seventh studio album, Free. Created over a transformative five-year period shaped by the global pandemic and the artist's dedication to motherhood, the record carries a deeply personal and intimate tone. The title double-signifies emotional liberation and the milestone of Velinova obtaining her Canadian citizenship in 2025. The album was produced by multi-instrumentalist Kristian Alexandrov, a long-time creative collaborator of the vocalist. Musically, the release blends ECM-inspired contemporary jazz rooted in Bulgarian heritage with elements of bossa nova, blues, and jazz-pop.
