Sportfreunde Stiller are one of a small handful of German bands to record unplugged for MTV. On MTV Unplugged in New York, they arrange their hits - such as “Ein Kompliment” and "Ich, Roque" - acoustically, and even update their biggest hit, “’54, ’74, ’90, 2006” (an anthem written in anticipation of the 2006 World Cup that also celebrate's the German National team's previous World Cup successes), as “’54, ’74, ’90, 2010” due to the fact that Germany did not actually take home the title in 2006. Though the title of the album is MTV Unplugged in New York, the performance was actually recorded in Munich, Germany.
