Released in the autumn of 1980, Ready is the second studio album by the British rhythm and blues outfit The Blues Band. Formed by former Manfred Mann members Paul Jones and Tom McGuinness during the height of the UK's New Romantic and Post-Punk movements, the group acted as a crucial anchor for traditional, no-nonsense blues rock. The album captures the powerhouse energy that made them an immediate live favorite across Europe, mixing sharp original tracks with high-octane interpretations of classic material by Willie Dixon, Doc Pomus, and Ray Charles.
