"Northern Songs - The Lennon & McCartney Compositions The Beatles Never Issued" (1979) is a unique concept album by the British tribute band Revolver. The project is notable for its not simply featuring cover versions of famous hits, but rather full-length studio reconstructions of songs John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote in the 1960s for other artists, but which The Beatles themselves never officially released on their albums.

During the "Beatlemania" era, Lennon and McCartney actively donated their unused or specially written tracks to their fellow artists (such as Cilla Black, Peter & Gordon, Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas, The Fourmost, and Badfinger). Many of these songs became huge hits, but the original versions performed by The Beatles themselves (except for rare demo recordings or live BBC performances) were officially nonexistent in the 1976s or 1979s.

In 1979, the Liverpool band Revolver entered Amazon Studios and recorded 17 of these songs. Their main goal was to recreate the signature sound, vocal harmonies, and arrangements of The Beatles' early and mature years (1963–1969), imagining how these songs would have sounded had the Fab Four recorded them themselves.

Musically, the album is entirely rooted in the canon of mid-1960s British guitar beat. Here you can hear both classic, upbeat Merseybeat (in the spirit of 1963-1964) and elements of later pop-rock from the end of the decade, imitating the playing and singing style of John, Paul, George and Ringo.
