Liz Durrett - Outside Our Gates (2008)

"Outside Our Gates" (2008) is the third studio album by American indie folk artist Liz Durrett from Athens, Georgia. It was released in September 2008 on the independent label Warm Electronic Recordings.

Unlike Durrett's first two albums ("Husk" and "The Mezzanine"), which were produced by her uncle, alt-folk icon Vic Chesnutt, "Outside Our Gates" was produced by Eric Bachmann (frontman of indie bands Archers of Loaf and Crooked Fingers). This collaboration helped Liz move beyond her usual ascetic minimalism.

"Outside Our Gates" is a deep, autumnal, and cinematic record that will appeal to fans of sophisticated, minor-key indie folk, dark American acoustics, and beautiful, layered arrangements.
