Liz Durrett - Husk (2005)

"Husk" (2005) is the debut full-length studio album by American indie folk artist Liz Durrett from Athens, Georgia. Released in January 2005 on the independent label Warm Electronic Recordings, the album immediately caught the attention of connoisseurs of the melancholic acoustic underground.

The producer and primary inspiration for the record was her uncle, the legendary and iconic alternative folk artist Vic Chesnutt. He recognized Liz's talent when, as a teenager, she sang her own melodies into a home tape recorder and insisted on recording the material.

The album "Husk" is a perfect example of "quiet" music, which touches the soul not with volume or technique, but with its utter honesty, naked emotions and a thick, mesmerizing atmosphere of light sadness.
