Slow Tiger - Slow Tiger (2026) [Hi-Res]

In 2022, as live music began returning after the pandemic, keyboardist and organist JP Schlegelmilch put together a tour featuring five musicians from New York's creative music scene — trumpeter Kenny Warren, saxophonist and clarinetist Adam Schneit, bassist Andrew Dow, and drummer Nathan Ellman-Bell. The performances revealed a rare musical chemistry: years of prior collaborations had built a shared language among these players that demanded further exploration — and so Slow Tiger was born.
The record comprises nine compositions contributed by various band members, united by earthy, emotive, firmly etched melodies that serve as a springboard for more free-form, atmospheric sonic exploration. It was recorded live over two days at engineer Jonathan Goldberger's basement studio in Nyack, New York, and mixed by Nathaniel Morgan, who lent the sound a subtle Motown touch.
The result is music in search of new beauty and new sonorities — a genuinely collective statement that is at once grounded and expansive.
