Agile Experiments - Havana (2026)

Multi-instrumentalist and producer Dave De Rose, working under his shape-shifting project Agile Experiments, releases his thirteenth album, "Havana," out on the None More label. The record grew out of impressions of the Cuban capital: the city's heat-hazed, tympanic pulse becomes the foundation for collective improvisation and ecstatic groove alchemy, filtered through carefully considered post-production choices. It continues the trajectory set by "Loukoumades" (2024), on which De Rose again balances the line between organic performance and studio-based electronic processing.
The album's sound moves between percussive futurism, airy jazz pastorale, and electronic textural work. Street sounds De Rose captured while walking through Havana intertwine with precise rhythms and warm horn arrangements. Dense layers of percussion sit alongside melodic tres and trumpet lines, while a bass-and-synth foundation leaves ample room for spontaneous musical developments.
Alongside De Rose himself, who handles bass, drums, synthesizer, guitar, percussion, and production, the recording features percussionists Irán Farías Saínz and Dengis Bofill, trumpeter Rasiel Aldama Chiroles, and tres player Amanda Quiñones. Mixing and mastering were handled by Giorgos Botis, with engineering by Bosito and Vincente Alejandro Trigo. "Havana" marks another step in Agile Experiments' exploration of community, tradition, and futuristic sonic language, further sharpening the project's distinctive signature.
