Various Artists - Sounds of Malawi Vol. 1 (2026) [Hi-Res]

In 2024, Los Angeles producer Harlan Steinberger collaborated with Deschamps and Makhala to record Malawian artists at Jacaranda Studios in Blantyre. Over ten days of marathon sessions, the team recorded 85 songs from 18 different bands. This massive undertaking resulted in the compilation album Sounds of Malawi, Vol.1, which features fourteen selected tracks. The project aims to showcase the diverse range of roots music found throughout Malawi. Harlan Steinberger drew from his extensive experience in the region, having produced previous albums since 2009. The collection captures the spontaneous energy of local performers who traveled from across the area to participate.
