Mtn Lion - Stealth (2026) [Hi-Res]

Denver funk quartet MTN Lion — a supergroup featuring Lettuce drummer Adam Deitch and guitarist Adam "Shmeeans" Smirnoff, alongside The Motet members Joey Porter (keys) and Garrett Sayers (bass) — is releasing its debut album Stealth on July 24, 2026, via Golden Wolf Records. The project began in 2020–2021 when the pandemic sidelined the musicians' main touring bands; they started jamming at Deitch's house, then livestreamed, and eventually recorded a full album in the studio. The MTN Lion name came together only after the music itself was already underway.

The recordings sat unreleased for nearly five years before the band decided the material deserved to come out. Deitch and Sayers anchor a deep, syncopated groove inspired by Tower of Power bassist Rocco Prestia, while Smirnoff's guitar work blends rhythmic drive with melodic detail. The album was made entirely with real instruments, no AI, and carries an analog warmth, drawing on influences like James Brown, Prince, Herbie Hancock, Marvin Gaye, and Zapp. The lead single is "Turning Up the Heat."
