Begging for Love (2025) is a retrospective album by the legendary 1960s Scottish band The Poets, released in January 2025.
The Poets (formed in Glasgow in 1961) were one of the most distinctive Scottish bands of the 1960s. Early on, they were produced by The Rolling Stones' manager Andrew Loog Oldham. Unlike most of their contemporaries, who were covering American blues, The Poets emphasized their original material.
The album captures the authentic spirit of the 1960s mod scene, mixing energetic garage rock with pensive, dramatic ballads. The inclusion of demo versions offers a glimpse into their raw, unprocessed sound and the creation of their compositions.
