Bear McCreary - The Singularity: Ekleipsis (2026) [Hi-Res]

Emmy- and BAFTA-winning composer Bear McCreary continues his symphonic metal project The Singularity with a new album, Ekleipsis, the follow-up to the project's 2024 debut. The title draws on the ancient Greek word for "abandonment," and the record is steeped in themes of disillusionment and the will to persevere through hardship. Co-written with the composer's brother, Brendan McCreary, the album pushes forward the saga of a fractured, turmoil-ridden world begun on the first record, which featured Serj Tankian, Corey Taylor, and Rufus Wainwright. This new chapter brings an even broader roster of guest musicians, from Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier and Meshuggah vocalist Jens Kidman to guitar virtuosos Steve Vai, Slash, and Polyphia's Tim Henson, alongside classic-rock veterans Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and former The Police drummer Stewart Copeland. The eclectic mix of contributors — spanning progressive metal to classic rock and avant-pop — underscores McCreary's ambitious, genre-crossing approach to building out his metal saga.
