Absolute Lilt - Criostal (2026) [Hi-Res]

On July 31, 2026, Absolute Lilt members Lisa Canny and Niamh Hinchy released their new EP titled Criostal under Heavenly Recordings. The project modernizes the ancient Irish vocal tradition of lilting by blending it with Balearic musical elements. The EP features the lead single P Stands For Paddy, which marks a significant entry in the duo's catalog as part of the all-female Irish collective BIIRD. To promote the project, the artists launched a music video directed by Olivia McLaughlin that satirizes rural Irish pageantry. Inspired by the show Father Ted, the video stars comedian Mike Rice alongside a cast including Kate Nash and Doireann Ni Ghlacáin. The production intentionally flips the gaze of beauty competitions to highlight the absurdity of rewarding average behavior in men.
