Mark Lyndon - Silhouettes (2026) [Hi-Res]

Cork-based singer-songwriter Mark Lyndon is releasing his debut album Silhouettes, a concept work built on the folklore of the Blackwater Valley. After moving to the region, Lyndon was struck by the richness of the local history and spent months conducting interviews and archival research to turn forgotten oral traditions into songs. The album centres on guitar and his powerful voice, drawing on the intimate fingerpicking style of Nick Drake and Nick Jones and the lyrical tradition of Paul Brady and Richard Thompson. Standout tracks include "The Last 35," which retells a prison break from Kilworth Camp, and "The Brother's Graham," based on a local folk tale. Lyndon describes these stories as once-ordinary parts of Irish life and sees himself as a conduit bringing that heritage to a modern audience.

Though this is his first full album, Lyndon is already known nationally: his singles "Nocturn" and "First Light" received positive reviews from Hotpress and Irish Music Magazine, and his music has aired on BBC, RTÉ Radio 1, RedFM, and Galway Bay FM. "Nocturne" also featured in the IFTA-nominated short film PUNT. A committed live performer, Lyndon has shared stages with artists including Andy Irvine, Donal Lunny, John Blek, Susan O'Neill, and Muireann Bradley, building a live show that blends storytelling with performance.
