Steve Levine - Black Leather Jacket & Sunburn (2026) [Hi-Res]

Black Leather Jacket & Sunburn is an archival compilation pairing music from two unrelated British television projects Steve Levine scored roughly a decade apart. The first strand comes from Channel 4's hour-long 1988 documentary "Black Leather Jacket," an adaptation of Mick Farren's book on the leather jacket's cultural history, narrated by Dennis Hopper. Its title music was written and performed by Motörhead — frontman Lemmy had long collaborated with Farren, having written songs together for The Deviants, Hawkwind, and Motörhead itself. The tracklist suggests the compilation includes both the original Motörhead theme and several Levine-produced instrumental reworkings and remixes.

The second strand draws from the BBC One series "Sunburn" (1999–2000), a drama following British holiday reps in Cyprus and the Algarve, starring Michelle Collins. Its title theme was written by Levine together with Chris Offen, and performed on-screen by Collins herself.

Together, the two strands offer a cross-section of Levine's television scoring work spanning the late '80s to the late '90s, brought onto a single release for the first time.
