CLEAR LIGHT - Clear Light (2021)

The Los Angeles-based American band Clear Light secured its spot in West Coast music history as a prominent act of Californian psychedelic rock. In 1967, the group released its sole self-titled album on the prestigious Elektra Records label. The recording was produced by Paul Rothchild (Paul A. Rothchild), renowned for his work with defining icons of the era such as The Doors, Janis Joplin, and Love. The ensemble stood out for its unique dual-drummer lineup, which featured Dallas Taylor (Dallas Taylor), who later gained global acclaim with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSNY). The band's sound blended elements of folk rock, expressive guitar work, and a driving rhythm section, capturing the quintessential spirit of the late-1960s California psychedelic scene. This reissue is expanded with three bonus tracks recorded by the members' predecessor group, Brain Train.
