Milton Carroll - Blue Skies (1976) [Hi-Res]

Musician Milton Carroll released his 1976 solo album on Columbia Records in association with the Lone Star label. The catalyst for the project was direct encouragement from country icon Willie Nelson, who persuaded the artist to record the material free from studio interference or corporate oversight.

The recording featured a lineup of seasoned musicians, including pedal steel guitarists Buddy Emmons and Jimmy Day, as well as Jerry Jeff Walker. Stylistically, the album blends country (Country), classic rock and roll (Rock and Roll), boogie (Boogie), and blues (Blues), anchored by personal love songs and reflective lyrics. The sessions were held at Starday Studios in Nashville, produced by Milton Carroll himself alongside sound engineer Sundance.
