Gilla Band - Pugnello (2026) [Hi-Res]

Dublin-based act Gilla Band (formerly known as Girl Band) has delivered Pugnello, a definitive statement showcasing their blend of Noise Rock, Post-Punk, and contemporary club-oriented electronics. The record pairs the incisive vocals of Dara Kiely with heavy sub-bass lines, industrial synth textures, distorted tape loops, and deconstructed drum patterns.

The group's sound is driven by their diverse artistic endeavors: drummer Adam Faulkner collaborates with folk group Lankum, bassist Daniel Fox produces for Lambrini Girls and Mandy, Indiana, while guitarist Alan Duggan Borges works alongside ELUCID (Armand Hammer) and Miss Grit. Sonically, the album moves between high-intensity noise inspired by Lightning Bolt, Suicide, and The Fall, krautrock rhythms echoing Silver Apples, Andy Stott-esque slow-motion shuffle, and total noise abstraction.
