Il Bacio della Medusa - Deus lo vult (2015)

Deus lo vult ("So God Wills"—the cry of the First Crusade) is the monumental third full-length concept album by Il Bacio della Medusa. Originally released in 2012 and reissued on vinyl and CD by Black Widow Records in 2015, the album is a historical and philosophical rock opera. The album tells the story of the Umbrian nobleman Riccardo, who travels to the Holy Land during the Crusades, and explores themes of religious fanaticism, war, betrayal, and spiritual rebirth. Musically, Deus lo vult is considered the band's most mature, dramatic, and compositionally complex work.
