Happy Blue - happy happy jævla blå (2026) [Hi-Res]

The Norwegian quartet HAPPY BLUE releases its debut album “happy happy jævla blå” on October 16 via Nice Things Records, on CD and streaming. The band’s music blends exploratory jazz, melancholy folk, danceable groove and abrasive skronk. Guitarist Martin Haukedal builds his sound at the crossroads of funk in the vein of John Scofield, traditional hardanger fiddle and early-2000s mall-punk. The rhythm section consists of bassist Uma Morelia Bustos Reksten and drummer Markus Kristiansen, while Wouter Torringa adds long, yearning bowed parts on viola and violin. The result is a debut that seems naive but hides real depth. The cover art is by Lasse Marhaug, the mix by Kristian Enkerud Lien, and the mastering by Mastered.by.espen; records are sold through Platebutikken Tiger.
