DIKET - DIKET I SOLEN I DIKET (2026) [Hi-Res]

“Diket I Solen I Diket”, the first full-length album by the Grammis-nominated Norwegian indie folk band Diket, is released on the Supertraditional label. The record is built as a sequence of seasonal scenes: semlor buns in a slushy January, glaring April sunshine, occasional barbecues in early summer, gleaming new calendars in September, and frozen puddles and dusk falling as early as four o’clock in November. From these everyday details a coherent picture emerges: approachable and, at the same time, precise.

At its centre are loneliness, discouragement, belonging, love, and physical and financial insecurity, all told from a clear narrative perspective. Music and lyrics render with equal vividness the bicycle taillights that shrink into stars at night and the brown-gray winter landscape reminiscent of meatballs with brown gravy and rutabaga mash. Oslo is a constant point of reference: a costly yet invigorating city where poems and melodies take shape. The dense, atmospheric full-band recording turns everyday sketches into evocative portraits and establishes Diket as a precise storyteller in contemporary folk music.
