This is probably Barenboim's best Beethoven cycle on record, and
I recall it getting a rave review from David Hurwitz at Classics Today.
Barenboim's proclivity to take every single optional exposition repeat gets really tiresome. It really distended some otherwise fine music making.
A fine cycle regardless, in very good sound.
