To my mind Eugen Jochum (1902-87) is the supreme interpreter of Bruckner's 8th symphony (someone dubbed it Die Apokalyptische). To me, this live performance with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam when he was 81 eclipses his others (with the Berlin PO, Dresden Staatskapelle Orchestra etc.). The remastered sound is excellent too.
