1. Sediments [Reclaimed] (64:38)

While prepping the materials needed to assemble the monolithic 24-disc Dripping Earth box set, it was discovered that the company in charge of producing the photographic inserts mistakenly sent me 15 extra copies of the photo I used for "Sediments", part 21 of 24. Never one to waste an opportunity, especially one seemingly sent to me by fate, I took this as nature's request for a second look at "Sediments". After all, what else can you do with a pile of photos, but fit them to a narrative, even where one doesn't yet belong.

So I set to work on my errand, going back to the source tapes and equipment I used to produce "Sediments" originally. Much of the Dripping Earth set was created using the same ingredients, but great care was taken to ensure no two minutes of the set were exactly alike. I revived the audio via completely different processing, re-equalizing and mutating and layering it into a much more dense display than it was previously. "Sediments Reclaimed" is not so much a remix as it is a complete reconstruction, built from the fragments of the original piece after they have been razed to the ground in total reckless abandon. What I ended up with is closer to something like "Compost Dub" than the Dripping Earth series - incredibly mulchy and wet, somehow technoid at its composted core, but also very experimental and over-textured. Something alive to wake you from the Dripping Earth coma!
