Silicon Scally - Live At Scand (2018)

One of the by-products of the recent electro revival is the increased intetrest in the work of long-serving British producer Carl Finlow. Late last year, he donned the familiar Silicon Scally alias to perform a show of new material at London's long-running Scand party. Live at Scand presents straight-to-tape "live" studio versions of the same tracks, stretching the eight tracks across two slabs of wax. Naturally, it's a thrill-a-minute ride from start to finish. Check, for example, the snappy beats, meandering pads and psychedelic acid lines of "Chrysonite", the similarly mind-altering electro hum of "Fervidium" and the no-holds-barred madness of closer "Omegon", which is a much more wild and robust affair than some of its predecessors. In three words: peerless electro goodness.
