Sugargliders made delightfully light and airy indie pop that seemed to blush as you put it on repeat. Compiling six singles and six of their B-sides, We're All Trying to Get There navigated through difficult-to-find Sarah Records releases with a wonderful evenness in quality. Voiced like a picnicking Rialto or the Ocean Blue, but not as flamboyant or domestic, the scrumpy trip-hop of "Letter From a Lifeboat" and the leaning playfulness of "90 Days of Moths and Rust" are feathered pop successes, making do with sparse, unrefracted, all-acoustic guitars; country & western harmonicas; and a penchant for paused rhythms that escorted the music away from an otherwise underwhelming mildness. Small, but clever.
