Nick Hempton - Night Owl (2019)

From the basement jazz clubs of Harlem and Greenwich Village to the outdoor stages of the Esplanade in Singapore, three musicians from three vastly different cultures will come together to create two sets of original jazz music that promises to be energetic, soulful, and swinging.

A truly international collaboration, the music was conceived and composed in New York City by Australian saxophonist Nick Hempton, then presented to German organist Oliver Von Essen and Singaporean drummer Aaron James Lee. Without rehearsal, these three world class musicians will take to the Esplanade stage to turn Hempton’s sketches into two fully formed, and extremely groovy, sets of jazz music.
