The quartet was formed in the late 60s in Bermuda by internationalist musicians: James O’Connor from Australia, the Englishman Paul Muggleton, Glenn Mello from Portugal and the US citizen Andy Newmark. Despite the fact that they all spoke, and moreover sang, with a slight accent, they were united by a common aspiration, which turned out to be a little more than the typical one-time studio project and this probably prompted the New York label “DynoVoice Records” to release them The LP of the same name is exactly the same year it was closed. The founder of the label Bob Crewe (1931-2014) also helped in this - an American composer and music producer, known for his co-authorship in creating a number of top singles with such personalities as Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio, as well as working with the popular rock band " The Four Seasons. The recording of the album “The Bermuda Jam” was produced by Andy Denno. Shortly after the release of the album, the band The Bermuda Jam disappeared without a trace. However, after a few years, drummer Andy Newmark gained enough fame as a member of the influential California funk band Sly & The Family Stone, whose album Fresh (1973) is considered one of the greatest funk drum pieces. Newmark also performed and recorded with many other top musicians and bands starting their successful careers in the 70s, such as John Lennon, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, George Harrison, Rickie Lee Jones, Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Roxy Music and George Benson. Andy also participated in the recording of Karlie Simon’s “Anticipation” album in 1971 and the Gary Wright album in 1975 “The Dream Weaver”.
