Joseph Allen "Country Joe" McDonald (born January 1, 1942) is an American musician who was the lead singer of the 1960s psychedelic rock group Country Joe and the Fish.

Best of Country 1969-1975 collects 18 tracks from maverick psychedelic/country folk-rock mainstay Country Joe McDonald's years with the Vanguard label. There's no "Section 43," "Fish" Cheer I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin-To-Die-Rag," "Masked Marauder," or "Not So Sweet Martha Lorraine," so casual fans would be better off picking up one of the more commercial "best-ofs" or better yet, original albums like Electric Music for the Mind and Body, I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-to-Die or Together, but there's enough here for diehards to warrant a spin or two.
