For this CD reissue, the Brazilian acoustic guitarist Laurindo Almeida (in a trio with bassist Bob Magnusson and drummer Jeff Hamilton) performs music that straddles the boundary between melodic jazz and classical music. Tasteful renditions of Brazilian melodies alternate with classical themes by Bach, Debussy and Chopin and the results are well-played and quite likable.~Scott Yanow
