Patti Page sold more records than any other female singer in the 1950s, and her signature songs, from "Tennessee Waltz" to "Allegheny Moon," are from that era, but even as her style of novelty pop gave way to rock and beyond, she remained active in recording studios all through her seven-decade career, including a long stint with Columbia Records from 1962 to 1970, the years covered by this two-disc set. Falling to the easy listening side of country for the most part, these 51 tracks show Page willing to move in gently new directions with her song selection, arrangements, and singing, all of which makes this a fun archival release.
