Kevin Closs - In Deep (2019)

Since 2015, Kevin Closs has traveled in the Canadian Arctic, Greenland, Norway, Svalbard and Antarctica including the Falklands and South Georgia. The music on this album is inspired by the land and sea of these remote and beautiful places. From the edge of the polar ice cap to the Antarctic Circle, Kevin has experienced the extremities of the natural world. In Deep reflects the beauty, power and fragility of the planet. “A Blue Whale’s Lament” is a haunting narrative expressing sadness one feels when seeing first-hand the damage done to these pristine environments. Songs like “Leroy the Leopard” and “The Polar Bear Bar Song” remind us of the good humor and camaraderie found in the life of the traveler.
