Dubsouls - Dubsouls in Session (2019)

The session was recorded live and to 4 track tape giving it an authentic old school feel with live performance. The album was then mixed out of Youths stable of engineers by Jamie Grashion adding a modern feel to the sound. The tunes are played in a classic jazz format. Melody followed by improvisation around the form and then returning to the melody to end.

Murph has been writing and performing for over 30 years. Touring the world with various bands such as roots rock reggae band the Rhythmites of which he was a founder member. Also Radical Dance Faction who also had a recent release on Youth Sounds. He also currently plays with house legends Black Box.

Murph has worked as a session guitarist throughout his career and has performed/recorded in many different genres with artists such as Laura Pausini, Kandace Springs, Goldfrapp, Lee Perry and performed with many jazz outfits from the legendary trumpeter Bobby Mickleburgh to female vocalist Clare teal as well as his own jazz trios and quartets.

Writing original music is what Murph has always strived to do and the Dubsouls is a product of this. The Dubsouls music is uplifting music. It has texture and space with creative ideas performed by top quality musicians.
