Ophélie Gaillard is a French-Swiss cellist and conductor. She attended the Paris Conservatory, where she studied with Maurice Bourgue, Philippe Muller, and Christophe Coin, and won prizes in chamber music, cello, and Baroque cello. She won the third prize at the International Johann Sebastian Bach Cello Competition in Leipzig in 1998, and was named solo instrumentalist of the year at the Victoires de la musique classique in 2003. A recitalist and chamber artist, Gaillard frequently performs with other musicians, including Vanessa Wagner, Bruno Fontaine, and Pascal Contet. She founded the Baroque instruments ensemble Pulcinella, with whom she recorded Antonio Vivaldi's complete cello sonatas. Gaillard has recorded for Ambroisie, Evidence, and Aparte.
