Joe Willey and the Movin' Men have taken a more electric, psychedelic direction with "Eight Swords." Carefully crafted story driven lyrics and tight harmony vocals blend with searing pedal steel, tight rock guitar riffs, cool groovy drums and a bass that's always there with just the right feel.
Father-daughter duo Joe Willey and Nelita Rose Willey front the band, paying tribute to their folk and country roots while stepping out with drummer Dr. T, bassist Dan Horowitz and pedal steel and lead guitar player Jake Bennett. The Movin' Men enlisted backup singers Lucy Calhoun and Maggie Hunter for the album, with piano by Mitch Rothstein and singing crystal bowls by Becky Shanks.
The album evokes the wreckage of 2019 and the hope of 2020.
