The Oneira is the progressive rock band lead by the Greek multi-instrumentalist Filippos Gougoumis. A multi-cultural project across Greece, Italy and Germany. Filippos togheter with the keyboard player Gianpaolo “Banjo” Begnoni wrote the first album Natural Prestige which was recorded in Space Lab studios (Germany) with Filippos close friend Musician/producer Oliver Philipps and Christian Moss. The record guest Oliver’s Vocals plus a session vocalist and drummer. Natural prestige was pretty welcomed in the internationl progressive scene, proving the skill of the band and the right mix between old and new “progressive colours”.
After natural prestige Filippos decide to challenge himself and work on more complex, mature and sophisticated sound which is the new step to “forge” The Oneira style. Filippos add a new permanent drummer to the band. Oliver Philipps suggest his Italian friend Danilo “Sakko” Saccotelli, which is grown in the progressive heavy metal scene in the early 90’. He’s also a Writer and Lyricist. The current Line up worked so hard for the second Album “Hyperconscious”, again produced by Oliver Philipps (also GUEST vocals) and Christian Moss, with “new blood on it, Charlotte Wessel (from Delain) as a guest appeareance and the new lead singer Manuel Ruscigno. “Hyperconscious” mark a big step forward for the band, with tons of positive reviews worldvide.
Following-up the highly acclaimed albums 'Natural Prestige' (2011) and 'Hyperconscious' (2014), 'Injection' marks a further step towards a more mature and complex sound. Produced and arranged by Filippos Gougoumis and Oliver Philipps (Everon, Delain), mixed by Christian Moss, the album is an homage that visionary Greek composer pays to positive vibes, authentic anchor against fear and sorrow. Artwork and album design were created by Jan Örkki Yrlund at Darkgrove Design. For Fans Of: Porcupine Tree, Rush, Yes.
