Stud - Stud (Reissue) (1971/2008)

Shortly after the breakup of Taste in 1970, John Wilson and Charlie “Richard” McCracken met guitarist Jim Cregan (ex- “Blossom Toes”). Over the course of several weeks of rehearsal, they had accumulated enough material to debut with him at the Marquee Club on January 5, 1971. This was surprising given the fact that Richie and John never had their own material while in Taste. After the first performance at Marquee, they had a few more concerts in England, after which they went on a short tour of Europe and gave four concerts in Germany. After returning to their homeland, they sat in the studio “Command Studios” (London), where they recorded their first album “Stud” in a couple of days. It was released almost simultaneously with Rory Gallagher's album on the Polydor label.
