Varazdin Jazz Band - Neverland (2020)

The Varaždin Jazz Band released the "Neverland" CD in 2001 for Croatia Records. For twelve years, this band has been performing in an unchanged line-up, performing at numerous concerts and jazz festivals throughout Croatia. Alto saxophone is played by Gordan Perši, piano by Petar Eldan, who is the author of most of the arrangements, bass guitar by Ferdinand Buhanec, and drums by Robet Jambrušić. Occasionally, the famous actress and singer Barbara Rocco performs with them, who also participated in three performances on the recording of this album. All songs on the album are originals and are signed by Eldan and Pershi. Apart from the music of the members of the Varaždin Jazz Band, it is also known for its arrangements of folk music or compositions inspired by our folklore. Barbara Rocco sang two songs based on Denis Peričić's verses on the recording of the CD "Neverland". He interprets Kajkavian lyrics with a melancholy atmosphere, which gives a special atmosphere to the music on this album.
