The first four RCA albums of the late Jerry Reed from 1967, 1968 and 1969, Jerry Reed was a multi-talented musician and singer-songwriter, and received great public attention when Elvis Presley landed great hits with Reed's songs 'Guitar Man' and 'U.S. Male'. Reed made it to number 1 in the country charts in the early 1970s with 'Lord Mr. Ford' and 'When You're Hot, You're Hot'. In the mid-1970s he preferred a successful acting career to a return to music.Title: The Unbelievable Guitar And Voice Of Jerry Reed / Nashville Underground / Alabama Wild Man / Better Things In Life

The early genius of Jerry Reed in all of its glory – served up here on a quartet of RCA albums that are all totally great! Reed's already very much his own man at this point in his career – a hell of a guitarist, a wonderfully witty songwriter, and a confident vocalist who sometimes seems to draw on a bit of soul to put his point across – in a way that's never in the bluer-tinged side of the country spectrum. There's so much here to love – from the blues-inflected licks that Reed can spin on guitar with effortless ease, to the sense of perspective on the scene that makes him as witty as contemporaries like Roger Miller or Tom T Hall – but in a way that's pure Jerry, all the way through. And sure, by the end of the 70s, the man might have been something of a parody of himself – in these early days he was pretty darn great, and a unique new sound in both country and pop.
